Kate grew up in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, and has an undergraduate degree in microbiology and immunology and a masters degree in Global Health. She developed an interest in neonatology during her sub-internship in the NICU while at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth. During medical school she participated in the development of consensus guidelines for perioperative care for neonates undergoing intestinal surgery and completed research examining outcomes associated with multiple tracheal intubation attempts in the NICU. Kate is currently a first year resident at CHOP and is excited to work with the Near4Neos database to explore outcomes related to endotracheal tube changes in neonates.
